January is a month when the weather and short days can make it tough to go out and run. However,
we have found that January provides some of the best photo opportunities during runs.

So it looks like February is a bit of a brilliant month for taking running pictures and there does seem to be a
good variety in our collection. Perhaps the strength of the sunshine helps in terms of lighting and of
course we are in the last winter month.

As February was a good month in our picture collection we have found that decent pictures are a bit light for the month of March.
In non COVOD years the Scottish race season kicks off.

Running in Scotland during the month of April
April can be such a lovely month for a run with cool conditions and the start of spring.
Running in Scotland during the month of May
May is the month where the bluebells are out in force all over Scotland and on a sunny morning they
can be rather stunning.

As the heat starts to build in Scotland for the summer we see more and more races on the calendar.
You can get sunburnt on one,
then soaked on the next. June also sees the start of the dreaded midge so keep moving at pace.
Running in Scotland during the month of July
The opportunity to get out and explore new routes in July is wonderful, but beware that certain areas will attract more walkers and runners than usual.
However, try a really early morning run or one in late evening. The sunrise and sunsets can be glorious.

August is another great month of running in Scotland and includes some great races across the country. The last monnth of summer also provides some interesting weather.

September weather here in Scotland can sometimes be hot and then very wet. Towards the end of the month when the leaves
start to tumble some of the paths can get a bit slippy. The days are starting to get shorter and it is more noticeable.

October in Scotland sees the start of the cold and shorter days.
A lot of misty mornings and plenty of rainy days to be expected. On the bright side it is still to early for snow.... usually.
Running in Scotland during the month of November
November usually sees the start of the cold weather,
but does offer some lovely picture taking opportunities. The beanie hat comes out along with the gloves.

So it seems like we don't take a lot of pictures in December, but there are some crackers in the set.
